Meet the Northbrook Staff
At Northbrook Early Childhood Academy, we’re proud to offer the finest childcare available to northern Macomb County. We have a staff of highly trained individuals who are committed to work with children to become successful adults. Our goals are clear, each child must feel safe, loved and encouraged! Our entire staff is first aid and infant/child and adult CPR certified.

Donna Donnellon
Founder and Owner
“When I began my home-based child care center in 1994, I had a vision of one day opening my own child care center. That dream turned into reality when Northbrook opened its doors in March of 2010. I have earned my CDA (Child Development Associate) in 2005. I am a member of the NAEYC (National Accreditation of the Early Young Child) and a member of the MIAEYC (Michigan Accreditation of the Early Young Child). I have also received over 132 certificates of training in all phases of child development. I thank you for considering Northbrook Early Childhood Academy and am confident you will find our facility an exceptional child-care center where children have the ability to learn and grow in a nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment.”

Justine Short

“I have always had a heart for children. While raising three children of my own, I completed my Associates Degree in general science with an emphasis in child development. I have worked in the child care field for over sixteen years and I am truly blessed to have the opportunity inspire and help children learn and grow at Northbrook.”

Jessica Brandenburg
Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher
“This will be my 5th year teaching preschool, after about 15 years in the counseling/life coaching field. I have my undergrad degreed in Early Childhood Education and Counseling. I have my Masters in Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family studies.
I have worked in a variety of settings, with one of my ultimate favorite being the preschool classroom. I love spending time with friends and family. I am very involved in the lives of my Godchildren. I love day trips, theater performances, and doing ministry! I love sharing God stories too! In my free time I love to read contemporary Christian fiction.”

Shannon McCallumore
Pre-Kindergarten Co-Teacher
“I have worked at Northbrook as a classroom assistant for three years. I recently graduated with honors from Ashford University and obtained my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Prior to this, I worked in my high school’s daycare as an intern for two years as part of a program through St. Clair County RESA. I was also proud to be a part of a program called Blast Off to Learning that promotes learning through play and educational experiences for children birth through five. In my spare time I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love going for walks and bike rides. I also enjoy listening to music, singing and reading.”

Kourtney Geiger
School-Age Program Lead Teacher
“I have been with Northbrook for three years. However, I have been in the field most of my life helping my mother as a home daycare provider. Growing up with a day care in my home made choosing it as a career a natural choice. I am currently working on my CDA and plan to continue my education in this field. I have also received certification in ABA therapy for children. My passion is being part of the Northbrook team. I am blessed to be here everyday and to be greeted by sweet smiling faces. I enjoy showing these children love and teaching them to be confident, kind, and loving people.”
