Northbrook Families Please Note,

Due to continued increase in wages, insurance and other items listed below, effective September 1, 2026, Northbrook Early Childhood Academy will be increasing our rates.

  • State of Michigan minimum wage will have the largest increases for the 2026-2027 school year.
  • Due to increased wages, unemployment rates increased.
  • State of Michigan mandatory teacher training.
  • Security updated with additional cameras to ensure the safety of your children throughout the building and outside. The additional cameras ensure there is no area out of a camera view.
  • Insurance for Northbrook.
  • Mandatory upgrades to Northbrook are in process, refreshing with paint, carpet, and upgrades to failing cabinets. These are essential for the safety of all the children and staff.
  • While trying to purchase a mix of nutritious food and healthy snacks for Northbrook, we are watching sales, point programs and shopping at multiple food stores to keep costs down. With all this implemented, we are still facing higher food costs.
  • As Mark continues to repair and fix as much as he can, the cost of buying the parts continues to rise. Some repairs still require licensed plumbers and electricians to keep state compliant.

 Researching the surrounding area childcare centers in Macomb, with these new rates, Northbrook is still an incredible value and incredibly competitive with our teachers’ credentials in early childhood development, and Northbrook’s commitment to the individual attention of each child’s childcare.

Payments are automatically drafted on the first day of each month. There will be a 3.5% fee added to all credit and debit charges. **Payments will be due on the 1st of each month.**

The rates for full-time are as follows:

  • $346 weekly/$1,499.00 monthly for infant/toddler care.
  • $331 weekly/$1,434.00 monthly for full-time, 3 years old and potty-trained preschool.

**ACH transactions and checks will continue to be fee free.** If you choose ACH, we will need your routing and account number to complete the ACH transactions. If you choose to pay by check, please pay by the 1st, but no later than the 10th.

As the banks are now charging us a 3.5% to 5.5% fee on the total of each swiped credit or debit card, we will be still charging the lowest and add a 3.5% fee on to the total:

  • $1,551.46 monthly for infant/toddler care
  • $1,484.19 monthly for full-time, 3 years old and potty-trained preschool.

We must enforce our credit and debit card policy and require a credit or debit card on file now and if payment is not received by the 10th, Northbrook will swipe the card on file.

If there are extending circumstances, delays in payments must be approved, if not a $35 late fee will be charged after the 10th of the month. Also, NSF fees are automatically charged for rejected Credit, Debit cards, ACH transactions, or returned checks.

2026 Special Program Rates

Northbrook is committed to creating ways to best serve our families with a variety of needs. Below you will find the 2026/2027 school year rates for programs outside of our typical full-time program rates.

Part-time Childcare: $85 per day. As a small business it is difficult to take children part-time. Any child that is not enrolled 5 days per week is considered part-time and must submit a consistent schedule to be approved. We will always do what we can to accommodate schedules when we can within state requirements.

Our FREE PreK FOR ALL/ Great Start Readiness Program begins at 8:30amand ends at 3:30pm and operates on a schedule similar the local public school, this includes at times half days and teacher in-service days. This program is not cost to you and includes breakfast, lunch and snack. Children must be four years old before December 1, No exceptions.

We understand that many of our Northbrook families are working families and need care outside of typical school hours, so we offer an EXTENDED CARE PREK PROGRAM that is a flat rate of $500 per month. Extended care tuition offers the convenience of Northbrook’s regular hours M-F 6:00a-5:30p and anytime PreK for All/ GSRP closes outside of the Northbrook calendar we provide substitute teachers, while PreK for All/GSRP staff is at required in-service training.

Northbrook also offers a BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL care program. This allows children and siblings who attend ATWOOD ELEMENTARY. To relieve parents' work commute, the parking lot at ATWOOD can be difficult and unpredictable for your morning commute and afternoon early pick up on Wednesday can be hard to navigate your work schedule. Therefore, our BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM offers a fun and engaging morning with indoor and outdoor games and activities before the bus leaves at 8:30 am. After school we provide a snack, help with homework and time to get some fresh air on the playground. Snow days and Half days are included in the program, and lunch will be provided by Northbrook after school. This is for your family to use at your convenience BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL is a flat rate of $400 per month.

BUS ONLY TO ATWOOD is available for prearranged days at a rate of $10 per day. You will drop your child at the bus no later than 8:30 am and pick up no later than 4:10. This can save you time and the headache of the parking lot, why not save you a trip? We are headed there anyway.

All programs are set up for automatic billing on the 1st of each month. Credit card payments will be subject to the 3.5% processing fee from Brightwheel.
